Everything is unpacked.
This new house lark doesn’t get any less complex with practise; though this move was made easier by not having to co-ordinate the sale and purchase, that meant that when ur furniture went into storage in April, we didn’t know where we would end up, and consequently whether the furniture would fit…..
We realised before the furniture arrived that the dining suite would have to go, and that’s being collected on Wednesday by the local community furniture store. After that, it’s a bit like trying to fit a quart into a pint pot. Though the house isn’t a great deal smaller, some things just won’t go, and we’ve been rehoming things for the past week.
Today I finally got the chance to sort out what the estate agent called the office; This is now renamed the study/craft room/ my wardrobe/general depository. The floor is now clear, cupboards (very) full and drawers bursting at the seams. What is abundantly clear, especially when my other half announces periodically ‘Do you know there’s another box of wool/fabric/books in the garage?” that next year’s ‘interminable list’ will be a stash reduction exercise if mammoth proportions.
I can knit, crochet, patch pretty much whatever I want, as long as it’s from stock on hand. There’s not much I can do about the books/research paperwork, just keep plodding on and hope the end result is worth all of the space it takes up!
On the plus side I did get to a couple of pieces of stitching that mum started many years ago, and have determined that I’m going to finish them off. Soon.
