Wood, Wool and decorated lorries

Almost at the end of our first week already – Friday, and we’re making a return trip to one of our favourite places – Tallinn.  The new part of town is like any city that you can find just about anywhere.  The old part is remarkably quaint, and because there are no vehicles allowed in the cobbled areas, it has remained largely uncommercialised.

It’s only a short walk from the quayside to the old town, and we were treated to the sight of a whole load of decorated lorries heading off to some sort of show, bt held up by the police after the first in line drove into the back of a taxi! We hit lucky this time, because it was market day, and there were stalls selling all manner of local produce and goods.  Lots of wooden items, woollen goods and ceramics.  We didn’t spend a lot, but did have a good old root round to see what was on offer.  The amazing weather was still holding out, too!
