It’s three years since my last trip to the German Christmas markets and after chatting with my usual travelling companion, I didn’t think I’d be making the trip this year, so it was a super surprise when my other half announced that he’d booked us a river cruise to visit the markets.
So, amid great excitement, we set off for Ashford last Sunday, taking in a whirlwind visit to see middle son and his partner, prior to a 6am start on Monday morning. Our first glimpses of Koln weren’t very spectacular, but we knew there would be plenty to look forward to.
Tuesday (described as Thuesday, 01th December on our programmes!) dawned grey, but mild as we head towards Koblenzand as the day progressed we were rewarded with some typical Rhineland scenery.
Back home to the laundry today, and I’m going to bore you with market pictures tomorrow – be warned!
